Divine Mercy The Divine Mercy devotion places emphasis on the message Our Lord gave us, through St. Mary Faustina, to trust in His Mercy and to be merciful to others. Through St. Faustina, Our Lord gave us a special means of drawing on His Mercy: A Novena; a prayer (Chaplet) at the three o'clock hour--the hour of His death; and the Feast of Divine Mercy, celebrated on the Sunday after Easter. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is prayed in the Church before the 9 AM mass on Fridays as well as 3 PM on Saturdays.
First Friday Adoration COULD YOU NOT KEEP WATCH FOR ONE HOUR? (Mark 14:37) One of the main things that separates Catholics from other Christian faiths is the Divine Presence in the Blessed Sacrament, the Eucharist. It is a very special gift from Our Lord to us, and Adoration is a wonderful opportunity for us to spend some one-on-one time with Him in prayer, praise, petition or whatever it is we want to say to Him. Here at Our Lady of Grace, we have an opportunity for this special time in Adoration on the first Friday of every month beginning after the 9:00 Mass (about 9:30 AM) until 12 noon with Benediction at that time. During this time of Adoration, the Blessed Sacrament must never be left alone. We do this in several ways here. We have several of our organizations, ministries or individuals signed up for a particular time every month, and of course, everyone is welcome to come during the day to share this wonderful, quiet, peaceful time with Our Lord. Get away from all the hustle and bustle of life and do your soul some good. It’s time for you and Our Lord. If you would like to participate on a regular basis, please contact the church office. All are welcome!!
Healing Ministry This Ministry serves as God’s hands in ministering His healing love and mercy to those who ask for healing. Ministry members, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and through intercession and deliverance prayers, carry out God’s healing of body, mind and spirit to those who ask for it. The Healing Ministry affirms that healing comes only from God and members of the ministry serve as God’s vessels through which God’s healing grace flows to those who believe and ask. This ministry also assists the Pastor during the Healing and Anointing Masses at the parish and at the health care centers that the parish serves.
Intercessory Prayer This Ministry takes on a special responsibility in the service to the parish for spiritual, physical, mental and special needs of individuals. The members get together on Tuesdays to lift up to God the prayer intentions placed in the Intercessory Prayer box which is located on the wall inside the main double door entrance of the church. These requests are separate from the intentions on the church Prayer board and are confidential to ministry member only. To some, the Lord has given the gift of intercessory prayer, not because they are special but because it is a mission that God wants them to do.
Prayer Shawl Ministry A small group of ladies, who are members of the Community of Catholic Women at our parish, meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 10 AM for an hour. We gather to knit or crochet hand-made shawls by loving and praying hands. We pray that these shawls give warmth, comfort, and healing peace through Our Lord, Jesus Christ. If anyone is interested in receiving or being part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry, please contact the parish office.
